Idioma/Language: Español/English. American A contiene una selección de 80 fotografías de un lote 3000 negativos. Las fotografías fueron adquiridas en una subasta y pertenecían a diferentes diarios locales y regionales de los Estados Unidos entre los años 1950 y 1969. Las mismas tenían como destino ilustrar las noticias locales, hoy encontramos aquí documentación de diferentes tópicos como los movimientos feministas, beatniks, contraculturales y pacifistas, entre otros. Las historias y los autores permanecen anónimos ya que no se ha podido dar con ellos, pero su trabajo es el punto de partida para que más de 200 artistas, escritores y colaboradores elaboren el contenido de los siguientes tres libros (American B, C & D). Una fuente de inspiración y un documento de una época única. American A contains a selection of 80 photos from a lot of 3000. The photos came from an auction and had belong to different local and regional newspapers from the United States between 1950 and 1969. The pictures were taken to illustrate the local news, but we find here today a perfect documentation of different topics and movements such as the feminist, beatniks, counterculture and pacifist, among others. The stories and authors behind remain anonymous (they couldn´t be found), but their work is the starting point for more than 200 artists, writers and interpreters to create new pieces of art contain in the next three books (American B, C & D). This book is a source of inspiration and documentation from a unique time.
