Este libro analiza exhaustivamente, y desde distintas perspectivas, la presencia del modernismo en el contexto de la arquitectura ecléctica madrileña de principios del siglo XX. El estudio se estructura en dos partes distintas pero interrelacionadas: la primera, dedicada a la contextualización y caracterización del fenómeno modernista en Madrid, presenta un carácter genérico, teórico e interpretativo; y la segunda, fundamentada en un análisis tipológico de intención descriptiva y valorativa, se destina a estudiar sus diversas manifestaciones concretas.
This book gives an exhaustive analysis, from a variety of perspectives, of the presence of Modernism in the context of the eclectic architecture of Madrid in the early 20th century. The study is structured in two separate, but interrelated, parts: the first is devoted to the contextualisation and characterisation of the modernist phenomenon in Madrid, and is generic, theoretical and interpretive in nature; the second, based on a typological analysis, is aimed at giving a descriptive account and an assessment of a variety of diverse concrete manifestations.
