La prensa española del período 1808-1814 engendra y anuncia desde su actualidad la futura grandeza periodística del Trienio Liberal, a la vez que lo hace el resto de Europa. Pese a que la mentira y el servilismo de muchos órganos de expresión sean motivo de indignación, es cierto que basta pensar en unos pocos títulos para comprender la inmensa aportación que hicieron al logro colectivo de España. En esta cuidada edición se relacionan 644 periódicos publicados en el territorio nacional, todos impresos excepto dos, sin excluir algunas publicaciones en español que vieron la luz en Bayona, Gibraltar, Londres y América.
Like the press in the rest of Europe, the Spanish press of the period 1808-1814 engendered and announced from its news pages the future journalistic heights of the Spanish Civil War of 1820-1823 or Trienio Liberal. Although the lies and servility of many publications would be the cause of indignation, a few titles suffice to understand the immense contribution they made to Spain's collective achievement. This painstaking edition covers 644 periodicals published in Spain, all but two of which were in printed form, and also mentions publications in Spanish that were produced in Bayonne, Gibraltar, London and the Americas.
